Boiler plant

The new boiler plant comprised of wall mounted gas fired condensing boilers connected into a shunt ring which included a low loss header. The new system comprised 2 systems one operating at variable temperature through a modulating mixing valve controlled through a compensator in the BMS system and a constant temperature system to serve the unit heaters in the Appliance Bay. A constant temperature system was connected to the low loss header to provide primary heating to the domestic hot water cylinder, when the solar heating system can not provide sufficient primary heat.

Solar Panels

Solar panels where installed on the roof of the plant rooms with the pump unit installed on the wall of the boiler room. The solar heating where installed to heat the domestic hot water cylinder.

Power & Controls

New TP&N distribution boards where installed within the plant room.
All the automatic control panels and all the wiring associated with the control, power for pumps and unit heaters, door switches etc where installed by Ascot personnel as part of this contract.
The automatic controls included a Building Management System linked to the Fire Service Headquarters.

The project involved the replacement
of boilers and domestic hot water
cylinder and the supply, installation
and commissioning of a new heating
system, and domestic hot and cold
water systems, including solar heating
for the domestic hot water.

The new systems where installed to
replace the existing systems in the
Fire Stations which where stripped
out and disposed of under the contract
works.

All builders and decorations work
required as a result of the
mechanical and electrical works where
undertaken by Ascot fabrication team.
