Air Conditioning Systems

 

1. Fan and motor speeds.

HVAC COMMISSIONING & TESTING:

Vent Commissioning

The supply of engineers to carry out the commissioning at a dedicated contract as detailed below:

We will include in our commissioning reports the following where practical:

Air and Water Systems

 

1. Belt tensions checked and left correctly adjusted.

2. Drive sets are secure and alignment is correct.

3. Impeller is secure on shaft and free to rotate.

4. Air handling unit filters & pump strainers are in position & clean.

5. Motor and fan bearings are lubricated.

6. All power wiring is complete

7. Suitable fuses and overloads are fitted.

8. Fan/pump rotation is correct.

9. Monitor motor start-up and running currents.

 

Water Distribution

 

1. Pump and motor speeds.

2. Full drive set details.

3. Motor running amps.

4. Pump duty with system on full load.

5. Recording and setting of pressure drops on flow measuring valves, orifice plates, venturis and through all items of equipment where a pressure drop is required and test points are available.

Air Distribution System

 

1. All airways are clean and dust free.

2. All ductwork is airtight and free from leaks.

3. Duct & grille dampers are set in the full open position checked for free & adequate movement.

4. Fire dampers are checked and left fully open.

5. Access is available to all dampers.

 

Water Distribution System

 

1. System is watertight.

2. System has been flushed, filled and properly vented.

3. Control and non-return valves fitted correct way round.

4. All normally open valves are open and normally closed valves are closed.

5. Make-up tank is filled and pipework to system is open.

6. Strainers have been removed and cleaned.

7. Pressurisation unit is operational.

Information required by our engineers prior to arriving on site is as follows:

 

• Full set of drawings

• Relevant extracts from, or a complete copy of, the specification.

• Wiring diagrams for all equipment showing control circuits and interlocks.

• Manufacturers’ literature for all equipment.

• Design volumes for all fans and grilles, pumps, regulating valves, control valves and equipment.

• Pump and fan characteristic curves.

Commissioning is defined in CIBSE Commissioning Codes A, C & W as “The advancement of an installation from a stage of static completion to full working order to specified requirements.

Note 1. Commissioning shall include the setting to work and regulation of an installation.

 

(a) Setting to work: The process of setting a static system into motion.

 

(b) Regulation: The process of adjusting the fluid rates of flow in a distribution system within specified tolerances.

Note 2. Commissioning shall be deemed complete at the “conclusion to regulation “.
